blog time once again....great. well i like what we started in class this week about mystery and suspense. i also enjoyed disscusions we had about gays and the rights that they have taken away. this really made me realize how hard gay people have it in such a modern society. i really felt bad because there is no reason to treat a person this way just because the way they are. gay people deserve the same rights as anybody else and the really arent that much different than straight people. i feel that something drastic needs to be done in our society in order to keep these people safe just like what happened in the 60's with african americans

I dont really know if we even have to do a post today but im doing one just in case. This week in english was pretty fun because we did stuff that i like again, i.e talking about important issues in our society and the people affected by certain issues. I'm really shocked about how bad people in the gay community are discriminated against even in the church. In my mind chirch should be a safe place were every one is able to worship regardless of there sexual orientation. But that is just my opinion on the matter, im sure many other people have arguments against mine.

1. As many slaves on this specific southern plantation struggled through there lives, many believed there was no other hope for them. However there was some hope in there lives, and this hope came in the form Night John. In the chapters of night john that we read in class, we learned about how life was for many slaves on a southern plantation. We learned about all the whippings, poor eating and living conditions and the slaves attempts to make the most out of there living conditions. We also learned of a man named John, who intentionally returned to slavery to teach people how to read. The chapters read in class from this novel truly show courage, heart and drive in their best forms.
2. Mascot was a biography of Malcom X before he became a large civil rights activist and leader. In the biography, Malcom is constantly faced with he adversity of racial prejudice and rarely is treated as an equal. At one point in the story, a professor of his even tells him that he could never realistically become a lawyer(his dream) because he is a Negro. Malcom even faced adversity among his own race as he tried to follow in his brothers footsteps who was a boxer. It seemed that all through his life Maclom X faced some kind of terrible adversity.
3. The Great Debaters had many things in common and many things different from the two other stories read in class. For the subjects in common, there were aspects. First of all would be the racial prejudice the debate team faced everywhere they went. Another common factor would be where the stories took place. All stories took place in the southern part of the united states and in the ealry 1900's to the late 1800's. A final common aspect they had would be how all groups succesfully over came adversity. However there were also many contrasts between the three stories. the obvious ones would be the ways in which the characters faced adversity. In night john, it was slavery, mascot portrayed discrimination and the Great Debaters showed an extreme underdog story. Another contrast would be the way they overcame adversity. These three stories all showed similar subjects about civil rights and prejudice but they still had many unique differences between them.

alright its time to blog again.........Well i think what we are doing in class is pretty interesting except for the fact that the majority of people think that a racial stereotype is the same as an example of there right being taken away. However, i really am enjoying the movie we are watching and it makes me realize that hardships that many african americans had to go through in the past and present. I was surprised to see the prejudice against them even though they were some of the most intelligent individuals in the state at the time. I would like to think that people of any race do not face this kind of racial prejudice in our current society.

And its blog time. This week in class we watched 12 angry men and personally i thought it was one of the most boring movies i have ever seen, but what could anyone expect from a movie about 12 dudes sitting in a room about 8 hours. Well after school on friday i was so happy that the weekend started. I had a lot of fun this weekend and i really am not looking forward to another 5 day week at school. I am just happy i remebered to write this blog in the first place, i really think we should stop writing these things because i am starting to become very redundant in every single one that i am writing(if my posts are even being read). Well thats all i have to say for now.......boy i cannot wait to write the same thing again next sunday.

Finally getting around to doing this blog. I have to admit i forgot all about it due to the paper and thats why i think we should have a REMINDER ABOUT DOING THE BLOG in class, it would make things a lot easier. Well anyways this week just wasnt the week for gahanna. First we lost the vote for the levy(good job on that one community) and then we lost the soccer game. It seems like nothing has been going well for the school latley but thats just my opinion. Im just happy i got finished with this stupid blog.

I accidentally forgot all about this blog over the weekend. It was probablly because i was getting so into the end of the book. WHAT A TWIST, well not really my friend told me all about the ending before i read it so it kind of ruined it for me but its whatever. We stated watching the movie in class today and i am very dissapointed in it so far. The acting is very bad and the town is nothing like i pictured it. On a positive note i did very well in my cross country meet this weekend and i am well on my way to getting my letter for it. Another thing about the class though, i dont think many of the people in there really get the big picture and only look at the small things taking matters in the literal sense. Well, maybe its just me but i think people dont really understand the book very well. But what do i know its not like a wrote the thing.

I am finally getting to my new post his week. I actually have been really busy with school and sports this week. I have had a lot of test and other things to get ready for so i am just glad i got a break this weekend. I had a lot of fun this weekend though. I had a cross country meet that i did very well in and i ran my personal record. As i get more and more deep into Mockingbird i am finding it even more interesting. The only thing is i know some parts of the book i wish i didnt because i am in intro to theater right now and my teacher keep s talking about parts in the book i havent gotten to yet. I think that it is really interesting to hear about what life was like in such a racially diverse town in this time period. I know a lot of things went on in alabama in this time such as the Birmingham church bomb and other terrible things. Well i cant wait to find out what happens in the trial and other things with boo radley.

So i have started my essay and so far the rough draft is going pretty well. I hope that i will get a good grade on it because im pretty sure i have followed all the criteria required for an A on it. My subject is also a pretty controversial one being about school uniforms. Well i better get back to work so i am ready for school tomorrow.
- I am actually pretty surprised to say that i am enjoying To Kill A Mocking Bird. I say this because i have never been much of a reader but for some reason i really like this book a lot. I enjoy the story line and plot and i am constantly finding myself deep into the book. This is one of the few times in which i have had to read for a class and actually enjoyed it. I am really looking forward to getting deeper into the book and finding out more about people like boo radley. I am also realizing that in getting more into the book i am able to do better on the quizzes and answering the chapter questions. I just wish that every book i read for classes would be as good as this one.

English Poems
Im so glad to finally be with poems in English. It is so dumb when we have to analyze what the author really means when writing them poem. I wish we could just read the poem and enjoy it instead of answering questions that go into exact detail about every line in the poem. I am actually glad to be finally moving on to something else instead of poetry even if it is writing a persuasive essay.
